Inside the 2026 NF Scooter: The Design Decisions That Mattered

The 2026 NF scooter is the most refined machine we have built, and most of its design lives in decisions a spec sheet will never quite capture. Here is the walk-around, the way we give it on the shop floor.

The controller lives up front

The controller — the brain that manages power — is housed in the upright case ahead of the rider. It is not a box bolted on as an afterthought; the frame was designed around it. The result is a cleaner silhouette and shorter, more serviceable runs to the controls.

Batteries under the deck

The battery packs tuck beneath the standing deck. That does two things: it keeps the weight low, so the scooter feels planted in corners, and it leaves the frame open — which is a big part of why an NF looks like an NF and not like a battery with wheels attached.

Paint on the frame — and only the frame

Color goes on the frame rails alone. The fenders and rims stay black on purpose:

• The color reads clean instead of busy — one strong statement rather than paint everywhere it could go.
• Black fenders and rims shrug off the chips and chain grime that living in a wheel arch invites.
• A touch-up, if you ever want one, is a frame affair — not a full disassembly.

A headlight where a headlight belongs

The headlight sits above the front fender, mounted to light the road rather than to decorate the handlebars. Night rides in Idaho taught us the difference.

The numbers, honestly

We are still finalizing the performance figures — range and top speed depend on the final configuration, rider weight, terrain, and weather, and we would rather publish conservative numbers we can stand behind than round up for a brochure. When the figures are confirmed, they will be on the scooter page, not in a footnote.
